My vote goes to 03boz. I have been wanting to make this type of rack for a while. Closely followed by michael2's set up.

I like that Hannibal awning too.

    Hi,

Cheapest I could find, a touch on the heavy side, but super handy for the lighter, bulky stuff.

    03boz,
Is that sea water sloshing around in the headlights???

I think the sag maybe referring to the first image. The left hand side of the front of the rack looks to be little higher than the right hand side... or it could just be shadows, or I suppose the roof line moving!
    Regards,
    Jon

Probably not really good photos of the rack.
I made it about 8 years ago
There was plenty of water fresh and salt on that trip.
The photo was take south of sandy cape tassy a few years ago when we drove down to the head of the pieman river from sandy cape light house (awesome spot).
I am looking at going down this Christmas.

Made in Indonesia, hot-dipped galvanised copy of Safety Devices Discovery Series I Highlander Low Roof Rack (RRL103ORA $1320, Safety Devices Roof Racks - Expedition Exchange), delivered to Malaysia and installed for abt Aus$800.

Came in handy for tossing up muddy recovery gear and parts that fall/ripped off.
