As a matter of trivia I believe these rules were largely set up by Toyota to control/limit the import of second hand Japanese cars

When you look at some of the margins that arrive on cars in Australia I'm sure the local distributors were all backing it. At one point the retail price of a Lotus Elise when converted to AUD from GBP was around 40k. The price they were being sold for here was 80k

IMHO that is the fugliest 90 I have ever seen!!!

But if you were set on owning one, I am sure there would be plenty of people in OZ who could build something equivalent for much less than 60k.

Buy a 110 and a galvanised 90 chassis - then get a panelbeater to work some magic.

I totally agree....they just don't look right. If I was offered one of these or a 110 crew cab despite its rareness I would turn the 90 down
Our Land Rover does not leak oil! it just marks its territory.......

Got some phoning to do this week...

All I have to do is find a way of giving it a traditional Fender face lift.
are you stashing it for twelve months ...? thought that is what the go is and are you supossed to come up with a log of the usage over that period ...how are you planning to prove this if you are in Australia ??
I am very interested as i want to pick up some piece of green machinery from the old country in the future cheers andy

Have to agree. I saw new black SVX 110 in Fremantle last week - with that bloody ugly great slab of silver painted plastic across the front and some silver stripes on the side with the number "60" in black relief - that looked like any kid could have done it. Give me a plain black 110 any day of the week.
    Cheers .........
