No Deano, water was mentioned, certainly not kero or oil ... & gaskets which have expanded due to excessive moisture need to be put in a warm place around 65-95 degrees I think, this keyboard is really starting to pee me off ... sounds like baking bread really ... can't be that hard

No worries, the further North the better. To be considered a "skuller" I'm honoured, I've still got no idea what this thread is about, which I'm begining to think is a pre-requisite to post!!

BTW, this post has taken my daily average to >2, positively garralous, a regular chatterbox.

I pinched these off Panda, I reckon they look cool , us leftys have to stick together!!

God almighty woman ... don't you start ... just hold the fort so I can go & peruse ... incidentally, is Castrol yours or Mrs Ho Hars? That was the best one there I reckon. Absolutely superb. Don't suppose you want to lend it to me do you? Oh well, worth a shot.

Can anyone remember where mentioned about trying to get magazines on Indian motorbikes ... can't get any decent mags for my friend. Okay, I'm going now. I'll see if I can find something

Probably enviromentally friendly or something. Back in the days before we invented such concepts, when you took gaskets out of their packaging they were probably stiff and shrunken, bit like me in my dotage , and they needed softening up and lubricating. Oil for cork and kero for paper was the go. Manilla folders make great gaskets when your'e in a fix. As far as............."& gaskets which have expanded due to excessive moisture need to be put in a warm place around 65-95 degrees" ........, if the gaskets that stuffed toss it and get a new one. The only damp place you'll find in an engine is the cooling system and it generally use paper gaskets anyway, easily replaceable. Don't get into the habit of using "Silastic" as a replacement, radiator repairers will hate you as it clogs the radiator tubes and causes the engine to overheat and is a bugger to clean out. On the other hand the Dealerships will love you as they can sell the customer a new radiator at vast profit.
