It certainly does have the self changing gearbox and the original AV 590,not like the last ones in use with the Iveco engine and the electronic gear change fitted !

In Brisbane we had SCGs in the early Panthers, the later Panthers were fitted with a four speed ZF, with 2nd and 4th rendered inoperable; gear selection was by a rotary switch........R-N-F. With a diff ratio below 7, they almost valve bounced at 60kph.

Last bus I drove was a restored AEC Regent V,in Devon General livery with the AV 590 and a fully syncro box lovely to drive.
