(HELP) Traveling mate pulled out of trip

A month away from departure my mate that was going to do this trip (gunbarrel and simpson desert) has pulled out.
So I will go solo again for this trip (damm sight more reliable).

So do I do the Gunbarrel from Wiluna to Warburton solo or is this deemed too remote, dangerous etc?
Bearing in mind that I have a fully prepared disco 1 300tdi that has recently been JC checked, running new micky t ats tyres, new shocks, uhf, hf, epirb, spare hoses, belts, idler bearings, wheel bearings etc.

Maybe a possiblity of linking for the trip via hf radio with other travellers and also with that in mind still the possibity of still doing the simpson

The planned dates are to leave Wiluna on the 20th of july and be in Finke on the 26th of july

If the gunbarrel is deemed not suitable I will go the Great Central Road and then do the oonandatta track

What are your thoughts, am I mad, do I need to make major changes to my plans, do I can it for 12 months and reorganise (this would be hard to do)

Sorry to hear about that blaze, but I recon you will have a hoot going solo. Those who have done it must feel a great sense of accomplishment.
