I know where you are coming from.
My boys went to primary school and there were reoccurances of Head Lice...... some mothers would refuse to have their kids checked by the school nurse for head lice..... So all the others that spent big money having their kids treated were only to be re infected again and again only because of some mothers selfishness!!!
I was vaccinated, and still got it. My wife wasn't, and still got it.
Seems the vaccine only lasts for a few years, and just as likely to be infected by adults whose immunity has lapsed as to children who haven't been immunised.
Or so Wiki says.

Parents not vaccinating there children is not solely a "greenie" problem, it is what I call a new age parents problem. And these new age parents are people who grew up in the eighties and nineties and have never seen the affects of these childhood diseases because they weren't around when they were growing up due to immunisation.
Yes there are risks involved with immunisation, but the risks are a lot higher if there kids are not immunised. My kids are immunised and both have had Measles and Chicken pox but only very mild cases, but it could have been a lot worse without the immunisation.
I agree entirely. People confuse greenies with new-age because the later are more likely to get on TV chaining themselves to a duck.
Most conservationists I know are pretty level-headed and sensible.
Why are some of these immunisations even optional? Astounding how more and more people think they know more than all the doctors, researchers etc.
I have been doing a fair bit of personal research into this topic ( vaccinations), Actually A lot of research.
our vaccination rates for Pertussis (whooping cough) are now at their highest ever and so are the cases of the disease.![]()
More people then ever are vaccinating for the disease.
Sweden actually stopped the vacination for whooping cough ages ago as they deemed the vaccine dangerous and i was surprised that they now have a much lower rate of the disease.
I rekon we need a lot more education about the whole topic. not many people know much about it or even want to. including my doctor.
Alot of people also dont realise fully vaccinated people can still get the disease and in fact pass it on.
I read about the fear of polio coming back the other day, but it was saying that it wasnt the wild virus they were concerned about but the mutant strain that (according to the scientists ) came from the vaccines.
I am amazed how many people run at the mouth but know bugger all about it.
Just like landcruiser owners...![]()
i had one the other day too because im on a flu trial and i have to report in if i think i have the flu... turns out i had a virus and the nose thing was a waste of time... haha got it both nostrils too... fun times
I'm not sure about the actual sources of your information or where your comment seems to be going, other than to say: if the research you have been reading is suggesting that immunisations are of no benefit, then in a second I would strongly suggest that you dump any knowledge you got and research it in proper scientific "peer reviewed" literature. Regard most things that you read on the internet with scepticism. e.g. tonight I can write any falsehood I like into Wikipedia and it will remain there for days or even longer, perhaps become another urban myth. Try it!
Immunised people who have had the full course of a particular vaccine and who have developed an immunity, can not pass on that specific disease.
Anyone who suggests that pertussis vaccine is more dangerous than pertussis (Whooping cough) in an infant or small child, has neither seen or directly cared for a small child with whooping cough nor understands what they are talking about.
You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.
