As far as I know in WA for a tripod mounted radar they can conceal themselves and the radar but they must display a sign on the side of the road within 200m of the unit stating that radar is in use. Of course in practice they always display the sign 200m after the radar setup.
Speed fines have been overturned in WA where it has been shown the coppers set up the sign but then tried to conceal it by parking a car in front of it to render it invisible.
Might be different for a hand held radar jobs.

The Highway Patrol cars do hide in the bushes, particularly north and south of Goulburn NSW, where they use the bushes between the north and south bound sides. Be extra careful from just north of Marulan to after Gunning on the Hume Highway
You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.
they hide a lot on the northern beaches and north shore.
the funniest one i saw was a cop hiding behind a telegraph pole trying to catch people using the transit lane on spit rd, his fat gut out one side of the pole and his big arse out the other gave him away.
LAND ROVER;HELPING PUT OIL BACK IN THE GROUND FOR 70 YEARSCARS DON'T GET ANY "GREENER" THAT.
several years ago paul wheelen i believe made a directive, not a law that police veh had to be visable when operating radar thats when they started only marking the sides of radar cars so they were visable but you couldnt tell they were police untill you passed themthis was after a radio station cornered him about the revenue side of the fines. as the law was not changed it proberbly would still stand up in court if they did hide

Hide or not is not a issue in RSA.
Bribes are more often than not suggested by traffic officials but the lates trend towards women drivers seems to either a kiss request or touching her greasts.
In shorts. Heavy fine, kiss or a rub.
The touching part seems to happen anyway.
I have not yet heard of any person not being suggested a bribe would get then off the hook.
Revenue? Off course and it is tax free for them.
