I thought they would only fit on a 6.5 or greater rim
110 Defenders came on a 5.5 rim.
Also I think it was 7.50R16 that is the correct size

I think you wil find that the standard rim size is 16 x 6.5 so they should fit. A 7.50R16 is equivalent to a 235/85R16.
My IIA has the 6" wide rims... I want to run these tyres (255/85R16) too but it looks like I will have to get some FC or defender rims :(
110 Defenders came on a 5.5 inch steel rim
130 Defenders came on a stronger 6.5 inch rim
The alloys are a 7 inch rim
Here's the markings:

Got 2 sets of BFG MTs - one on the Rangie and the other was on my D110.
GREAT tyres - these are the best size for Defenders, makes gearing more useable.
I run them on flipped D1 steel rims

I'm running BFG MT's on flipped D1 rims - gearing is a bit high for a Tdi, but GREAT tyres.

thats a split rim.........not a standard tubeless rim.......
the tyre size we are talking about is hard enough to find for a tubeless rim.......
i think they only come out in tubeless tyres........so wouldnt be any good for a split rim anyways.......
even the standard disco steel rims were wide enough to safely fit these tyres........
I also thought about this with mine, but ended not wanting to cut too much off the Disco's panels. I ended just running 235/85/16 (Defender size) muddies. The 255's are a big tyre, especially for a 200/300 tdi.
Sorry DEFENDERZOOK your wrong, the standard size is 5.5X16 on defenders, also LR have never fitted split rims to my knowledge. Pat
a rim designed for tubeless radials has the letter J stamped on it......
im not sure what the F stands for......i will have to do a search to find out.......
Thats a pic of one of the rims off my ex 110 300 Tdi Defender
It didn't look like a split rim either just like a normal Landrover steelie
Your right about the Disco steels though, they are 6.5 or 7 aren't they?
