    Coop, you've been elevated.
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.

My reason is, always "stupidity...insert giggle"

But when you get pinged 130 through a give way sign and stretching to 160 cruising home from work unaware, what other reason is there?

I've NEVER been done for any medial offences speeding wise, always been significant

...the next question you're asked will probably be, 'Do you require an Ambulance' and if the answer is 'no' then things go down hill....

The thing about being asked 'any reason' (in my opinion) is that if you chose to have the matter considered by a Magistrate (at a mention date NOT a hearing) then the Beak will have a copy of the notes made at the time of the incident. If you say 'Yep, I did (speed) and the only reason I have is that I (insert reason) and I'm sorry. I'm here today to accept my responsibility and seeking a reduced penalty from the Court'.

So, you're pleading guilty with an explanation - the Courts in NSW are required to discount the penalty on a guilty plea at the first opportunity.

If you sit there stoney faced and deny any wrong doing at the time you're stopped you project an attitude of 'mens rea' (guilty mind) which goes nowhere on the road and certainly nowhere in a court.

If there is any reason - late for work, sorry i stuffed up etc, then you're being honest.

I've had cars where there should have been a fanfare played to celebrate being able to break the speed limit

I got let off by a US traffic cop once even though i was waaaaaay over the limit because i'd forgotten to bring my licence on holiday, the car was owned by the wife of the mate I was with, she was in another state and we didn't know where the papers were. I think it all just seemed to hard for her so she said "be careful and don't speed in future"

... no such luck with cops over here

Was talking to a copper the other day(have that sort of job)he was saying he was following a car down the highway sitting on 140.He was in a marked car and the guy started to speed up he got up to 150 or so and he decided he better pull him over, when he did he asked why he was speeding and he told him he didnt see him there. My mate told a cop years ago that he needed to go to the toilet, the cop said if he was going so fast he passed one a few kays back.
