Congratulations.
Don't worry. There is always postgrad![]()
Well...4 1/2 years later...I've finally finished my degree.
Feeling pretty damn happy about it all, nice to get it all done.
Next - full time work
Cheers
Dave.
Congratulations.

There's 6 out of 12 in our office with Doctorates in various forms of Civil Eng who all keep saying 'masters???'
Not yet anyway....

Yeah give it time and come back. Its hard to do it and work at the same time, but you come back with a different perspective on things.
Cheers

Yep. So true Slunnie.
I went straight into Bach Civil Eng after year 12. Took 12 months off for work experience as I got burnt out with the study. Hard to go back to study after earning good wages in work experience, but was far more committed to completing the required uni work.
Keen to get a few $$$ under the belt now, as the job market is not great if my part of the industry goes belly up.
All good!
Dave.
Another civil Engineer... oh well at least it wasn't arts
... can you tell I've got a science degree
Seriously though, well done its not easy to come back to studying. Hope you find something good to start earning some $'s

Been working for a Piling company for a couple of years now, great company and they really look after you.
It's been a strange 6 months, as when I started we (1st years) were told promises of "shortage of engineers" and "jobs for everyone" - and this just isn't the case.
Whilst there is a massive skills shortage, the grad jobs just aren't there this year, or probably next. 12 months ago was a different story, but Contracting companies just didn't see this coming, and many a large company are now running out of work, with Mexican knife fights occurring for the few remaining decent civil jobs.
Similar thing with grad redundancies, been very interesting.
I'm very lucky compared to many I know. At least I didn't do BioMedical Eng, now there's a lack of grad job prospects....
Cheers
Dave
well done Dave. Get full time work and that diff swap will be done in no time![]()
Congratulations, great feeling to get it finished.
