But at least the Do X flew out of ground effect! Actually crossed the Atlantic both ways if I remember rightly. Then there is the Saro Princess - with nearly a third greater wingspan than the Do X, and it actually did about 100hrs flying, and had a takeoff weight only about 10% less than the "Spruce Goose".Quote:
