40 years ago Alvin Smith's 'Strange Rovers' had a Range Rover chassis mounted with a TR7 body (Very easy fit). Later models had the engine and gearbox reversed to make it 'mid-engined' for better race distribution. He won a lot of off-road events and championships with that format.

TR8's (TR7 with a bent 8) in 2WD trim were pretty exciting to watch in their rally/race days.

WTF is it?

Note the linkages on the inlet vanes.Same style we use on AC stuff today,but about 1/100th the size.
