    This is pretty sad.
I think that students of a master they greatly respect can be easily sold on the master's technique working. There's a lot of psychology going on. Eventually the master comes to believe that the trained responses of his/her students is due to his powers and prowess.

Its a rude awakening to get at his apparently advanced years...

    Ouch.
I liked that the MMA fighter checked that he was OK.

Agreed on the psychology at play, pride and ego can take one to lofty heights while respect and honour misguidedly given in inappropriate circumstances more often than not make for a very heavy landing.

I thought the initial part was very funny but did not enjoy the demise of the master. Hard to tell if the other guy wanted to teach him a lesson or was like the others, believing the BS, and fearing that he was going to be beaten to with in an inch of his life. As you say, you can see he was concerned for the old guy - which is good.

PS I don't think he really was an MMA fighter.
    Cheers,

    Sean

    Yeah.
The old master's reaction to getting one to the chops reminds me of Richard Norton's reaction in this fight with Sammo Hung:

It's all worth watching but I mean the little sequence from about 1:15 onwards...
