    Unleaded in Tdi Ooops

Just wondering if anyone has done a silly thing like I just did.
Put 80L of Premium in my diesel.
    Its a 300Tdi and I ran it for 10km's.
It than just died. I darined the majority and put another 80l of DIESEL in and off she went after some huffing and puffing.
Question is is there any permanent damage?

It seems to have same power etc just noisier now.
The pump or injectors or something.
    Any ideas of next step??

    I feel pretty stupid.

    Hi Big guy,

I've seen worse, like 150 Km of diving with a mix of ULP and Diesel. Ended up overhauling pump due to the time spent with poor lubrication in the pump. 10kms will be OK, as you found out they don't run on ULP
Flushing the system would've been better idea, IE drain tank completely, drain sediment bowl and replace filter, refill with diesel and pump through manually until diesel ends up at the injector pump. Reconnect and run it through until it starts and runs. You may have to drain the sediment bowl and change the filter again in a day or two, but your best bet is now use at least 3/4 of the tank before you fill up again, and add some Wynns EDT conditioner etc to the tank.
If the Tdi starts cold OK then I think you caught it in time.

(Oh, and don't worry the same thing happened to my RRC a little while ago...)

I had diesel put into a jackaroo petrol one day by young bloke at the servo way back in the days when they used to come out and fill up for you, Only noticed because it was taking so long to fill up (diesel was 1/4 of the price of petrol in NZ back then). Was actually on a test drive so just walked back to the dealers next door and said no thanks.

SWiMBO was filling the Defender with diesel the other day & went in to pay etc. A young bloke in a Commodore pulled into the diesel bowser and proceeded to try to get the nozzle into his tank filler.

SWIMBO told him it was a diesel bowser & not petrol etc. but the fellow obviously didn't understand English and continued to try and ram the oversized diesel nozzle into the Commodore

After three attempts to try and stop the fellow from stuffing up his car, SWIMBO gave up...

Some people just can't be helped, can they.

    Wonder how far he got.......

This is my recurring nightmare, it's only a matter of time. I'm add milk to the kettle and two sugars into the coffee jar kinda guy. It has something to do with being left handed I'm sure.

I'm also really tight so I'll probably catch myself before driving off but be really angry at the waste of fuel.
