Do I or don't I lease a black Defender crew cab ute?
I like the fact it's a 110 ute
but
I don't like the Poxy Puma, it would have been better used as a ceiling fan motor in a far away sewage treatment plant. Let's face it compared to the engine in my 110 the puma has about as much pulling power as a homeless man at a miss universe contest.
I don't like the dash, It's plastic and Fordish in appearance. Series III had more style. The body and trim are cheap and shoddy in comparison to my nearly 25yr old county, lack of galved trim and gutters? No Sals at the rear or comfy seats. It has anti stall, but so does my Isuzu (it's called a compression and low gearing).
I don't know why I looked at one, come on Puma owners convince me why I should step out of a suzi and into a new one?
Is it true the name Puma came from a very early owner wearing out a pair of Puma shoes walking to and from the dealers for warrantee work?
I' not going to convince you to buy one....from what you have written you don't want one. so why do you need convincing?
You get in a Puma becasue you want to not becasue you have too......but bare this in mind it might be a POS in your eyes and you have the greatest county in the world but which car got in and out of that great basin at Stockton....that's right people it wasn't the county. in fact he was told not to bother going in because he will not get out!

You can put hay in the tray.
True, but on the other hand would you take the Puma some of the places I have taken the Turdis?
This is why I of two minds over this.
The county has a few niggling issues, it needs a rebuild, turbo, brake upgrades etc...... I could spend a lot of money on it, or get a puma, I would be content with a Puma. Almost happy.
Spend a week in an Isuzu 110 and you'll see, your right I have almost convinced myself.
yes eventually! the 90 never had a scratch on it once, it was Ians pride and joy until the day when he made that little mistake got the scratch, got the ****s got over it and then got stuck in!!
at the moment the Puma has no need to go and get wrecked off road we have 2 other cars for that....but plate it up, protect it and stick some decent tyres on and there is no reason why I puma can't do what your turdis does its a VERY CAPABLE VEHICLE. However whether or not you would want to scratch it is another matter.

County's drive different, they're not at all refined or sterile, they are a pleasure to drive like the way a Mini a Moke an open topped windscreen down Series or riding an old Norton is a pleasure. The smell, the noise, the vibrations.
HP and Fathers favourite are both brown sauces, same basic ingredients. One is good in anything, even as a substitute for sugar in coffee. The other tastes like crap.
7325km to the Cape and back towing a trailer no problems at all

Fantastic pics John as always
