The anvil in the centre was given to me by the leaseholder of the property where I had my goldmine. The only water supply for 18,000 acres had stopped working. I noticed the sheep standing around the closest trough down the hill so I opened up his standby tanks and drove 30 miles to tell him about it. I stayed two days while we got the old submersible up and replaced it down the 480 ft bore. He wanted to pay me and I asked if I could have the anvil holding shut the door to the engine shed. All I had to do was put a proper latch on the door and it was mine.

Both anvil and forge came in very handy for re pointing my air picks and pry bars, now I'm no longer mining, the forge is occasionally lit on cold days to warm the fingers. I now use wood trying to save the last of my nut coke as it is nearly impossible to get.

Never underestimate the guile and cunning of an old scrounger.
Sounds like you may have had an interesting life in the past Nothing wrong with recycling otherwise wasted resources as I say. Very partial to this my self.... Just ask Khos He recons I'm a hoarder

Your shed is not "small", it merely has everything within arms reach.

Don't even get me started on hoarding, I reckon I could write a Pulitzer prize winning book on the subject. Hoarders are real people who can see value where others can't

Sorry your thread has wandered off a bit Khos Every shed should have a heater like mine though Also a fridge near by

I would like to toss some ideas around for a better lay out in my shed.
Needs a lock up area or two savage dogs

Should we start a new thread for suggestions?

I agree , if there is anyone out there working in their open sheds where the nights get as cold as some of the nights I experienced while I was at springvale/coolah then I believe they would be very comfortable with the warmth and heat given off by one of these "VFB" wood heaters.

with MarkII version shortly to be released

Fridge would also a good idea , saves a long walk to homestead to get the damn beers... speacially after a few in the workshop...

Feel Free to discuss any layouts / plans you have for your Sheds , Hijack away as much as you like ...... This is as good as a place to start as any....

I also think some sort of lock up area or security would be a good idea seeing the amount of exxxy tools you have in that shed..

I have both a slow combustion heater and a fridge running kegged homebrew in my shed.
RDO today, spent most of the day in the shed.Fitted another fluro above Lindsays lathe, got 2 going that had given up producing light. Also put all my power tools in the new cupboard I made for them and started stowing stuff on the new shelves.
Hoping to get more done over the weekend, having a week off after next week to get it sorted and start the final modifications to the camper trailer.
