I'm insured, even picking up a hire car that's part of our insurance package in the morning

    If it's written off I'll 'upgrade' to a 130

Man that must have been a big one I hit a small roo a few years ago in an XF falcon and it took the front end off the engine, I know they are pretty weak but it takes a lot to do that much damage to a Disco.

I know just how that feels after my horror smash 3 weeks ago, glad to hear you are ok. I hope you had the extras registered with the insurance!

It is a sad thing when you have a write off, I miss my defer everyday when I get into the work Hilux (and it is a 2x4!)

I've just been to see the smash repairer and he reckons it will be deemed a loss, primarily because it deployed the airbags. AAMI will probably just do a settlement and offer the car back. If that's the case I'm not sure if I'd do that or just take the money and buy a 130 HCPU dual cab, a Tdi Freelander or a Subaru Forester

Ahh, the joys of it all!

Glad you are all ok, buy it back and part it out, the TDI will be easy to sell - i'm sure someone is looking for a project.

Good to hear all were OK. I second Loanrangie's comment. If you add up all the accessories that arent damaged, then on top of that the disco in parts you will come out of it with more money in the pocket. other things like spotties and uhf you can transfer to new veichle, saving more money.

    Ouch.
    At least you walked away.
If you get it back as said you could part it out and keep the bits you still want.

The smash repairer is recommending that the insurer writes it off. I'll sell off the bits on it that are not listed on the policy.

    We're currently looking toward a 2003 Td4 Freelander as a replacement
