I personally won't buy a D3 or D4. I like my old 93 Tdi 200 because I can service it myself and buy any parts I need from ebay UK cheaply. I use a mechanic I trust for anything too hard for me and he doesn't rip me off with silly hourly rates or work charged for and not done.

I hate getting ripped off by the dealers and the outrageous servicing costs. I also think the old mechanical less electronics vehicles are less likely to leave you stranded. The only three amigo's in my life are on celluloid.

But as several people have stated it's each to their own. We all have more in common than differences, after all we are all on the aulro site through choice.

    Regards

    Martin

Using the same logic, just because you think it is not ugly, doesn't mean it isn't.It is just an opinion,Everyone has one and no one is right or wrong, only to themselves.
No need to be sorry.....we all know the saying about opinions. My point was that someone posted something good about LR...in this case a D4 and that was the best you can come up with....."its still ugly". Point being?? So hooray for having an opinion.....its relevance to the topic is nil. Yes...why don't we all knock our marque when something good is said about it? For sure be critical if warranted...but knock it for knockings sake?

As to logic....well opinions are easily torn to shreds...factual information is a lot harder to refute. In terms of the statement "being ugly"....that is an opinion. Being the top rated 4WD around the world, winning countless awards and people spending upwards of $60k-$100k + would confirm that the opinion of it being a great looking car along with other aspects...would be correct.

So yes we all have opinions yada yada........ what I fail to see is the point of innocuous statements such as that...in a positive article about an LR...one may as well go buy a Toyota or Nissan as they seem to revel in putting things down,

    Regards

he is still allowed an opinion stevo....and it is relevant to the thread as it is about the car.
the poster only put up a review of someone elses opinions.

If someone posted up a review that slated the marque does that mean that everyone that posts in that thread can only say bad things as saying good things wouldn't be relevant?

IanV8 if you think that cars ugly.........good for you. I dont I like it and knowing what the D3/4's can do makes it even nicer.....

We are ALL guilty for pointless posts probably even you stevo thats part and parcel of writing something on here. Not everyone is going to like what you say

Knowing the second hand pricing of an old RR you might not have to wait that long for it to be affordable

Ahhh DB....you've probably being waiting months to counteract something I have said..seeing that I have been so quiet . Now quite clearly...I haven't said anyone isn't allowed an opinion.

The risk one takes though by expressing that opinion...as I have....is that you may cop some flak over it. That said...some opinions deserve more flak than others......I think that deserves flak. Whether the "piece" was positive or negative...is irrelevant....I think to put down one of our "own" is not much chop....and quite thoughtless as we have many D3 and soon to be D4 owners who will join this forum.

Plus if one is going to make a statement...at least back it up...its ugly because???

    And really...if that's ugly...them I'm a monkeys uncle.......

    Regards

    Stevo

you wish.......you haven't been that quiet stevo I have enjoyed reading your posts up until this one. Wow your a very sensitive guy stevo to think that when ever i reply to your post I have been sitting and waiting to do so......your not that important mate.

In fact you may notice that I often have a say when I feel anyone is having a go at someone on here when its not necessary

I replied as I feel you have been very harsh.....if you feel he needs to back up his statement couldn't you have just asked why he feels the way he does? rather than going off on one like that and try to make him look small in front of the whole forum.

You must have been a Chinese editor in a previous life, where only the positive spin may be published, true or not. You're in Australia now, where we have freedom of speach, thought and opinion. My free opinion still considers the D3 ugly! If you want one, good for you, I hope you get many years of happiness from it. If you do ever aquire possession of one, rest assured I will not be launching bombastic attacks upon you for your (right of) choice. As a democratic Australian, I will respect everyone's choice and right to hold a differing opinion.

I may not agree with your views, but will fight for your right to hold and express them.
