I'm pretty sure 6pm here is 9am in the uk, I normally put 001144 before the uk number but leave off the 0 from the uk code.
eg. 01327 6666 would be 001144 1327 6666![]()
UK is on daylight saving time at the moment so only 9 hrs behind us instead of 10 (east coast that is). So yes, 9am UK = 6pm here.
The "++" relates to whatever your country's, or carrier's international access code is. Australia (most carriers) is 0011, but I think there are some discount carriers that you can use another dialing prefix to get their you-beaut special rate for whatever country you're calling.
If you're going to be calling the UK more than a bit and your internet connection is reasonable I recommend signing up for Skype, or another VOIP provider like Penny-tel so you can call for next to nothing.
Or you could look at Time - Current time around the World and standard time zones map of the world- 12 format too.

We've found that Skype can have a lot of echo when speaking to a regular land line phone in the UK. We phone there quite a lot and have found the most consistently reliable and economic way is to buy a voucher from Australia Post. You can get one for $10 from any Post Office. It lasts six months and is a lost less costly than normal phoning. Can't remember exactly how long, but I think we get a couple of hours for $10 (a bargain).
The only downside is the quantity of digits that have to be entered. Tip: get someone to read them out as you enter them.
The other thing you could do, if you just want to find something out, is ask a local to ring them.
I am sure either Leeds or myself would ring quite happily for you.
Regards
Barbara
UK is 10 hours behind Eastern states ATM, so if it 11am here its 1am in the UK of the same day.
