Aussie Tourist commision running out of ideas?

They reckon the Aussie tourist commission is running out of ideas to promote overseas visitors to come to our shores.
Firstly, I'm getting a bit sick of the usual ads over and over again showing the outback, some aboriginals and some sandy beaches all the time., oh and I forgot Sydney.
Why don't they show the real Australia as we know it, it's other cities, the high country, the activities we enjoy.
New Zealand ads show what their country has to offer, there scenery, their fishing, hiking etc. and people flock from all over the world to do it.
Australians have a lot more to offer, show adventure sports, riding the sand dunes of stockton beach, etc etc the vineyards, the old buildings, the modern Melbourne, Perth, the night life, ( maybe better not that one, too many louts and bashings) The Yachting, water sports, racing, out door relaxing. Forget Football Cricket, that's old hat
There is more to Australia than Sandy beaches , bikinis Ayres rock and Aboriginals.
**** if Australia has nothing to offer than what they previously aired then Why are we all living on the Eastarn seaboard, it must be boring here?

I don't disagree with you, but the places advertised are what the general tourist visiting Australia wants to see. The gateway to the country for the vast majority is Sydney, and it would seem that every Japanese tourist wants to have a photo with a koala and Uluru.

Last year we met pensioner age Germans cycling through the Centre, as this is what they want to see and do.

    Target advertising methinks.

I met quite a few tourists from OS whilst holidaying in NZ, once they knew I came from Australia, they told me they were amazed there is a lot more here in Oz than than what they have been told in advertising.
The Jap tourist is generally in a tour group and only see and taken to where the operator takes them. Shops at shops they are taken to by the tour operator. we should cater for more than just the Jap tourists and allow the whole of Australia to benefit form the tourist dollar than just Uluru, Cairns and Sydney.
Target advertising it may be, but as reported on the news, they are running out of ideas
