    17 to 19 L/100K, over 20 when I have a trailer on behind.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

And a second diesel tank doesn't usually sit in the cargo area, at least the ones I've seen.
Neither do sill LPG tanks. Pat

Having driven over more of Australia than most I disagree.I was never left stranded ever and never had an issue finding LPG and never had an issue with any engine I ran it on.My disco, holden 1 tonner, series 3 2.25 and my 300 Tdi all ran/run better on LPG than they ever did on straight fuel. The 3.9 in the disco loved it with a passion. Where I did have a problem. Between Alice and Darwin, main highway, marked servos, No gas. (within the last 12 months)

Even encountered a couple that had closed down totally, so no petrol either. Fortunately I had a sill tank with some petrol in it (just in case), or I would have been stranded - of sorts.

Wasn't a killer problem, but you did have to be careful.

Do agree that LPG runs very well though, especially on the v8.

Up here in Anna's state (unless she has already sold it,) its not the fuel economy that is the decider for me, it is the rego cost. 5 cylinders is a lot cheaper than 8.
    For what it is worth-
My maintenance service costs on the Diesel TD5 are not that much greater than those on a petrol/gas vehicle.
So far I have had no problem whatsoever with my automatic transmission (around 220,000ks) and this vehicle has done a lot of towing in its lifetime.
Have gone through a couple of R/H side engine mounts though.
Diesel costs seem to be a bit more stable than petrol, up here anyway.
Have fun with the decision making
    Regards
    Glen
