Actually, in all seriousness it was raining mud in Orange this morning while on the way to work.
I kid you not, I have never seen anything like it before, and you would have to see it to believe it, but it was actually raining red mud. The entire way to work the windscreen wipers were pushing mud off the windscreen.
Except for the clumps of dirt in the rain this morning it was finaly dust free today. I got it yesterday.
As an absolute change for us our rain was clear constant and a huge boost of 18mm Great!!!
At mildura we had the dust on Monday and it's not a all unusual.
Cheers ,
Mary
By chance I was in Melb that day and so was my grandfather (spent most of his early life in SW NSW, Lockart, etc) and his 83 yo girlfriend.
The big black wall was approaching and I said WTF is that? Their response was 'dust storm', shut the windows, be over in half an hour.
And it was.
It's not like these events have never happened before. In the past no-one had the cameras and instant image transmission like we do now.
cheers, DL
