    RRC front on a D1?

    Has anyone here ever swapped late RRC bonnet guards etc onto a Update Disco series1 some how? May need a bit of surgery to look right.

    I have a perfectly good 300 tdi D1 here with some front end damage that is bordering uneconomical to repair, how ever I do have a complete Rangie front.
    I recon it would confuse a few people

    maybe someone with Photoshop can do a mock up for you. sounds interesting to say the least

    im definitely interested in seeing the finished product. With some of the stuff the car mod guys do on the tv shows that do the rounds anything is possible, just need someone with the skills, the tools and the time to do it. I reckon it could be done with some good sheet metal work.

    Cant see why that would not be possible, i mean chassi rails are basicaly identical and i'm pretty sure the skirts would be the same...look good i reckon with a bit of chop here and cut off there..

    What I have in mind is to run the RRC hues through to about 4" to 6" off the D1 doors and make a vertical guard vent to blend it over. Any other thoughts are most welcome. Using RRC doors etc.
    Every time I drive the D1 I like it more but to be seen in it it will have to look Rangie

    sounds good. Why change the door though? I would just change the front end and bonnet and leave the rest. But thats just me.

    Yes and no. I have them side by side and outer skins are radically different. Could use the RRC front and doors then deal with the differences on the rear quarters may be.

    sorry couldn't be arsed to sit down and try and match colour but you get the idea..oh I couldn't find a pic of a 300tdi situated in the same place so a D2 will have to do

    Our Land Rover does not leak oil! it just marks its territory.......
