Looking at the couple of pics that Eric sent me and the one that showed a chassis repair, I really think that vehicle would have needed a chassis swap. Bad luck because I had already identified an available ambidextrous 6 cyl chassis, but I was being insistent that I wanted the disk brakes. I guess it was easier/more profitable for him to part the vehicle out.
He never even bothered to ask what I was prepared to pay for the complete vehicle.
Did I mention that the wide wheels had also been sold! (Not that I wanted them).
Not to worry, I am considering importing an unmolested example direct from the UK. Just because of the rarity of Marshall bodied ex-mil Land Rovers in Australia.
You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.
I think the issue with the disc brakes was more one of the fact that they had been sold/promised to someone else as a separate item from the vehicle.
In his ad I think he did say that bits that were sold separately needed a replacement provided as part of the deal![]()
