Pre-purchase Inspection of a County in Gosford.
G'day,
I was wondering if there's anyone in or near Gosford that would be willing to take a look at an '85 County for me?
I'm happy to pay reasonable travelling costs, plus a little extra for other expenses if necessary, providing I get a reasonably detailed report of the vehicles current condition.
Anybody that can help please reply or PM me and I'll give further details ASAP.
Cheers, and thanks in advance for any help,...Jon.

Oh BTW, further to my first post - in case I don't get any takers to give it a look over, if anyone has suggestions of a reasonably priced vehicle inspection company in the area (preferably one that you've had some experience with) that I could use then that would be appreciated, too.
Cheers,...Jon.

There is a Land rover specialist in Wyong /Tuggerah named
English Auto Parts 4/188 Pacific hwy Tuggerah 43532844.
I have bought parts from them and find them OK (if expensive) and spoken to the mechanics who seemed to know their stuff.

It would be great if someone on here could manage to take a look at it, as so far I'm up for about $300 or more to get someone else to look at it. (I have found one group that's cheaper, but for around $300 I can get it looked at by a Land Rover mechanic, so I figure it's worth the extra money to get someone who knows what they're looking at.)
Of course the dilemma is that for $310 plus car hire I can fly up and look at it myself....

Ah well, looks like everyone in the area is about as busy as I am...
I booked "State Roads" to go have a look at it for me. I'm already aware of a couple of issues with it, but I'm hoping that they won't come back with too many more. It looks reasonable from the photo's I've seen.
If all is well it looks like I'll be flying up this weekend to pick it up.

Surely an inspection will reveal so many faults in an 85 model car to enable you to negotiate down much more than $300.

LOL.
Normally I'd agree, but it turns out I've managed to get him to drop 40% off his asking price anyway (turns out he's very keen to sell
), so I'm not too fussed about forking out a couple of hundred to get someone else to have a look at it.
Now I'm looking for a good vehicle transport service with reasonable rates - any ideas anyone?
Anybody got space on a backhaul to Melbourne?
