^^^^ If you like a BBQ and a quiet beer you'll survive hereOr a scotch or two
The parts turned up today so have got the 7840 back together. Ended up wit all new brake parts as were quite cheap with a mix of genuine and non genuineGotta love these older pommy Ford Tractors as so much is available for them. Its also very scary what interchanges
All went together well, the brakes were a bugger to bleed as have a self equalising thingy between the two master cylinders.
The Pump pack was a huge job to over haul and involved making special tools to get it apart. Lucky I have a small lathe and mill here.
Warmed the tractor up, re calibrated the transmision and adjusted the potentiometer to specified values.
Adjusted the brakes and away she goes.Good for another 12000Hrs

Just a few more pics as have cleaned the camera out tonight. Some may be repeats but relevant.
Few pics of the Ford 5000 pto clutch, out put and M/S
Tried to shove the old 5000 back together today. All went well till the out put bearing and idler gear
Wrong bearing and the idler is narrower than the original so have to make a distance piece to take up the slack. Sound familiar? I have come across this often hereSometimes its simpler to engineer a solution with older gear than try chasing the correct part
Have lathe, have mill. It will fit, just doesn't know it yet.
Few pics of the 7840 final drive, wet brake disc, hydraulic pump cluster.
The 7840 now runs like a Swiss watch and brakes are very goodBest part, no oil leaks
Have racked up 220 hrs since the brake and pump rebuild, so back in for a much needed major service.
I try to do the engine every 150hrs , transmission 600hrs. This will very depending how hard the working conditions.
See the air safety filter is soiled, may have saved the dayIs a must on machines. Like to fit one to my 120 for this reason.

FinallyShoved the old Ford 5000 back together today. Also weighed and measured up a vehicle before ordering new suspension so we get it right
The drive cluster and spacers.
Out put shafts and oil pump drive
All back together
New seat, decals etc. Hope to clean it up and repaint next week if the weather takes up.
Some of the left overs
Weighing the vehicle in question.
Our new bloody Triton. The suspension has chucked it in at only 20K
Was crap when new so wont bother with warranty
All new aftermarket going in. This one has a one piece tail shaft so will be lifting it over 2". I'm weighing the truck so we can get it riding well and valve the shocks correctly.

Busy here but definitely enjoying life more now
It's so nice here now with this above average season.
My best dog "Larry" in action.
Kids cook lunchThis is the one with the evil laugh
(Those who have met us will get it)
One of our little helpers
I leave these little guys alone as are relatively harmless if not provoked.
Wheeling in the 120"
On the old Dozer. An old Massey with a s11 6354T perk shoehorned in
Plenty more happening.
Into calf marking next week.
The FIL's 'big' tractor was a White with a 6354T in it.
They sound good when they spool upbut I spent much more time in the 'little' Inter (65HP ?)
Thank my deity I don't have to mark anymore, that, but particularly de-horning I don't miss one bit.
Actually I take that back, calving time with too big a bull over them was much worse(our first season there was fun.....)
