    spare wheel carrier for defenders

Has anyone seen a spare wheel carrier for a Defender that opens with the door, ie not the Kamar type that opens seperately. I am keen to have a go at making one. I have seen one that the top section teliscopes into a tube but cant remember who makes them. Has any body got one of these? Pics would be great, thanks Brian.

As mentioned see the other thread. I have Bearmach carriers and have broken one on corrugated road. The Kaymar is expensive and impracticle, but have a look at this one: Nakatanenga 4x4-Equipment für Land Rover & Outdoor
Unfortunately the site is only in German, but the unit looks rock solid and opens with the door.

I have a Scorpion one on ours......broken twice on corrugated roads. Replaced the first time and the second time was repaired with extra bracing. Have just reinstalled it, so time will tell.

I hadnt seen rijidig,s thread on the rear wheel carrier thats a good one. I guess I should search a bit more of the old threads (does anyone else find the search funtion useless?) The german one looks good too. I will have a go at making something and post some pics.

I have a Bearmach one - been on my Defender for around 20,000kms and no problems so far. That's including a fair bit of off road driving and dirt roads with corrugations...can't really comment on any others except the Kamar - have a mate with one...it's great except for not opening with the door.
