I can't help with the high tech computer stuff. But being a bit of an amateur war historian I am eagerly waiting for you to post them. Hope somebody can help you.![]()
I've been sent an email of some photos taken during the attack at Pearl Harbour and which have only recently been developed after lying forgotten in the camera all this time. There are other explanations etc on the email and therefore I'd like to let you see the whole thing. I'm not very computer savvy , so can someone give me easy to follow instructions, or alternatively, can I send the email to an 'expert' to put it up for me. B.T.W. the photos are pretty good. Thanks , Don.

G'day All, While the pix are genuine, the story behind it is B/S +++, when I first saw them some time ago, I thought way too much depth of field for a box brownie, methinks more like a speed graphic or better a meduim/large format camera, anyway how many box brownies had a clock in the camera to record the time LOL, anyway a link that debunks it and pix hopefully cheers Dennis
ps it appears thats it's doing the rounds again as I have had at least 3 emails sent to me with 'so called contents' I just delete it,,.

I'm no pro photographer either, and I was surprised at the quality of the photos coming from a 'brownie'. The shutter speed in some of the blast shots must have been much faster than a brownie could muster. OK so i've been 'had'. They're still interesting photos. Thanks Dinty for the link. The info on there is the same as the email. Don
Yeah!! the photo's are genuine I reckon, I have seen them before somewhere,I am sure they are archival photo,s as another member has said. Another thing, I am old enough to remember the Box Brownie (my first camera when I was a little fella) and I am sure (not 100%) the shutter speed was somewhere around 1/30 sec which means there is no way some of those photo,s (the explosions) could have been taken so sharply. I reckon a large format camera with variable shutter speeds for sure. Also the Box Brownie was fixed focus which of cause means you can't alter the depth of field.
The camera's (there has to be more than one ) that took those photo's could be focused. Thats my two cents worth.
Does anybody have more thoughts?![]()
i would say most of those photos are from the movie , pearl harbour ,
They look genuineThe photographer is on Ford Island airfield one minute then on the water then in the air. Busy lad.
All of the debunking stuff above - except "footage from the movie", plus I have to say. It would be amazing to me that anyone would believe all those images which are obviously developed from different film stock using differences in the processing, could have remained un-developed and un-damaged for 60 years in any camera, let alone a single lens fixed focus device like a box brownie.
You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.
