What size pipe cutters do you have?
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.

Ben, what are you building??? If it's pressure related, PVC might be a better option as no ally is not used in pressure applications particularly for liquids.
If it's a non pressure app, try PG Body Builders as they supply & fit 6 & 7 inch ally tube for our intake stacks for Freightliners & Benz trucks.
    Cheers

Many LPG gas bottles are now Ally, however, they are very thick. I would not recommend using this 200mm x 3mm tube as a pressure vessel, if that is what you are doing. You will soften the metal at the weld point, and cause cracks as it age hardens, thus resulting in ally shrapnel.

    Isuzurover PM sent.

Thanks guys. Not really a pressure vessel. It is a sealed vessel, but it won't see more than atm +/- about 1psi.

    Jeez,

The scuba tank I'm not suppose to use (due to a punctured lung 30yrs ago ) is ally and the gauge at max is 300kg / cm.

    cheers, DL

1 psi? have you considered using 90mm high pressure water pipe with glued end caps??

people make spud guns etc out of this stuff and it can handle much more than 1 psi very reliably... I guess if it is for a commercial application, it may not be that flash...

alternatively, visit a truck wrecker and buy some air brake tanks from a light truck of some kind - dimentionally might not be a perfect fit, but I'm sure there are some around of similar dimentions....

It needs to look good, and need to be reasonably light, hence the ally. I would probably get it anodised once the flanges have been welded on.
