Here in WA most prangs are caused by morons in dunnydores trying to be hero's:mad:
I thick a better education into driving and social behavior would be better than saying zero booze
I know blokes that just can't go with out it even though there under the limit I would never get in a car with them
Ban booze go ahead but I don't think it will fix the problem but thats me

As for "fixing the problem", perhaps a little perspective is needed for a start. While any death is a tragedy for those involved, there are a couple of basic facts to think about:-
1. Apart from short term noise in the figures, the rate of road deaths by any reasonable measure (per head of population, per vehicle or per kilometre travelled) has been decreasing steadily at least since WW2. It is now the lowest it has been since records started, and even in absolute numbers it is close to the lowest on record. This hardly squares with the lament so often heard that driving standards are lower than ever! (The main reasons for this reduction are probably better roads and better driver attitude, with some contribution from random breath testing, seat belts, and better cars)
2. The rate of road deaths is below the suicide rate, particularly in the age range considered most at risk in driving. Perhaps our priorities are a bit skewed and more money needs to be spent on mental health.

I don’t want to enter a debate in relation to revenue raising or percentages. As someone who has had to knock on a door at night and inform a loved one that their husband, wife daughter, son will not be home. Oh and by the way do you feel up to coming down the morgue for a quick drive so you can identify the deceased? Or alternatively you really do not want to see your child as they had to be identified by fingerprints. (You read between the lines) Anything that reduces the road toll by .00000 of a poofteenfe of a percent. Is a good thing, lets all joke about drinking and driving, idiots , impatient people or just plain unlucky I have seen them all but I hope to god that you never have that knock on your door. He died because the person driving was on cocaine and not booze, its a hard thing to do and after 12 years have past I still see his face
