ORANGE NATIONAL FIELD DAYS 4WD PICS

Well I went out to the feild days again this year to drive the test track and take punters around for a gold coin donation, a fundraiser for our 4wd club.

The idea is that manufacturers should put a couple of their vehicles up there so we can drive people around and show them what the vehicles can do. No manufacturer seems game !!!

I'd love to see some Landies there !

This year my son went down to the army reserve site and talked them into bringing the 'mog up.
The bloke driving it was grinning from ear to ear, he's never driven one on tracks like that before. I've got to tell you, sitting on a seat that is as high as the roof of the Defender and tiliting this way and that and getting almost two metres of air under a front tyre is just a bit on the scary side.

I'll try to get some more pics from a freind.

By the way, the Defender does the whole track in stock standard form without a worry.

They know your old girls going to do the track with ease,, so they dont want to get slown up,,

You'd think with the ecconomic times we're having they'd be doing all the advertising they can for some extra sales,,,????

Well selling them is the idea.
In fact the first year we did it Mazda gave us a BT50 tray back and although limited by articulation it did climb the log steps VERY nicely due to heaps of low down torque and antistall.
One bloke was interested in them and when I drove him around he said that he liked them on the road and now knew what they were like off road so was pretty sure he would buy one.

Ahhh I saw you at the show. I'd been told to join Canobolas 4wd club because there was only one landy in it.
    Cheers

We probably could get you in but would have to be there early and have my club mates let you in as a "member" or leave it till about 4:30 in the arvo.
