    UK Delivery Times

Just wondering on the service others have had with gettinh parts from the UK?

A few weeks ago I ordered a new 300tdi head from Turner Engineering I sent them an email with the order details on the Thursday evening and the head was on my door step on Tuesday morning in Rural WA. They used the freight company DHL.

On the contrast I ordered some parts from Paddocks who used UPS was charged $20 more for a smaller package 8Kg as opposed to 15Kg. The order was placed 2 weeks ago, got an email from UPS about 5 days after the initial order saying they just recived the order, and have so far been watching it travel around the world. It left uk to Germany, then to Dubai, then Thailand, then Singapore got lost in singapore when there computers broke down and finaly arrived in Perth. After reading the last tracking notification it now says expected delivery on thursday.

If DHL can do it in 4 days why does it take UPS 2 weeks?

thnik you will find it very much depends on which route your freight takes.....

Some companies have different routes and may also be caring different priority mail. which can also have a bearing on the speed....

When I order form the UK I dont expect anything in under a fortnight. if it comes early then its a bonus but I have never had anything turn up under 9 days....so consider your first parcel a bonus that it turned up in 4 days and your other unfortunate it turn up in just over 2 weeks....

Apparently there are also postal strikes in the uk,

    No problems at all.

Everything has arrived with the week....the best thing is its much cheaper than in oz at the moment. I am picking everything up all most half the price

Interestingly I had exactly the same experience with a head from Turners several years ago - here in a few days. DHL and however Turners do their dispatch works a treat (and I think there is something about how they send you a bill for Customs rather than hold the goods up).

On the other hand I too have had bad experiences with other companies with a TNT parcel seeming to take forever.

I reckon go DHL whenever you can!

    Cheers

i use 1 company in the uk for my bits, they use ups..it get everything in under 7 days. and the stuff i have got from the states also comes via ups, again under a week.

it dosent help when the sender dosent get it to the ups depot for a week. they can still lodge the details and they show on the ups website but ups most likley wont get the goods for a few days. they cant send it if they dont have it.

    cheers phil

    UK Parts Order.

I have recently ordered parts from the UK, at different times and in both cases they arrived in just under two weeks. I have another part on order (This time thru All FourX4 in Newcastle, not direct) and it will be interesting to see how long it takes because I guess All FourX4 will wait to they have enough individual items to make an order to the UK worth while.

I have just been struggling for over a week to order a part from Paddocks.
I had good experience in the past but in the last couple of years they have been HOPELESS.
First off they seem incapable of accepting an order for a part not on their website catalogue. I knew this and asked how it could be done. The initial answer was to order it from their website , so THEY did not know that it cannot be done!! When I pointed this out their next answer was to order another part from the website then order the part in the "shipping comments"
So I did this , submitted the VISA. The Paddock site then spat me to some other UK validation site which asked me again for my details including check number. Being the suspicious type I pressed "skip" ( which was supposedly acceptable) and was thrown out of the site without the order being processed.
So I sent a fax last Monday. Got a confirmation and double checked the fax number.
Emailed them on Friday. They claimed that they didn't get the fax. Sent it again asking for a confirmation.
    Got this back.
    Hi

I can not confirm we have received the fax to sent today, so we will process
your order as quickly as possible.

    regards

    Then I got this.
    Dear ,

Thankyou for placing your order at www.paddockspares.com. You should receive an e-mail shortly to confirm the progress of your order.

    Regards

    Paddock Spares

    Nothing further heard yet.

I am afraid I have given up on them.
It will be interesting to see how long it takes. I should have bought the fuel pressure regulator from the States and paid another 20 bucks. I would have had it by now>

    Regards Philip A

Best delivery time from the UK was 24 hours

Usually I find 4 days to two weeks depending on what I order, but this has all been air lifted stuff. USA is similar times.

Unless I get something sent express post or air freight within Australia I'm looking at 3 - 5 weeks. Strange how overseas delivery can be quicker

That said my last order of tripod bits from USA spent 3 days in Sydney for some reason.

I ordered a CDL kit from Ashcrofts UK on 30/10 and arrived Darwin on 5/11 they replyed to my enquiry within 30mins and the deal was done within 1hr.I have been waiting 2 weeks for a reply from 1 of the major accesory suppliers in Aust and have sent them 3 emails, using both the form on thier website and a direct email to there address.
Obviously things are worse for businesses in the UK than here.
    Cheers Ean

You guys are aware of the major postal strikes (and therefore the delays) to the UK postal services over there right now, yeah....??

Even under those circumstances, it still shows Australia Post's service is shocking. I post stuff in Perth, to get to another address in Perth, and generally experience 4-5 days waiting.
Now, personally, I think that is real bad.

    Cheers,
