Having young children is no excuse either for not working/ looking after them etc. I work from home...had to send out missus to work p/t as we need the extra dollars due to the GEC etc. I run my 19mth old, 6 yr old, 11 yr old, 12 yr old and at times 15 yr old around, do dinners, driving and run a business. Yay for me...no not really...**** has to be done and you do it. Here's my advice...get MOTIVATED...get any job you can.....you have 2 arms, 2 legs and your health...no excuse. Ok back to all the sympathetic posts .

Same thing happened to me a few years ago, get out letter 60 days notice (70 days till Xmas) roll with the punches and survive. We bought a crap house to get out of the rent cycle of doom and gloom. We're doing the place up in between Landie mods and holidays. This year I bought my wife an A/C for an early Xmas pressie, She's getting it installed for me as an early Xmas pressie.

If I was in your situation I would be looking to get a casual job at a local service station.

This type of job is very flexible in the hours you can work, so you can work it around your missus hours and not have to use childcare.

You can usually do more / less hours as it suits from week to week, but it may mean the difference between a few hundred dollars more each week.

Hey guys,

first off I'd like to say that I really appreciate all the input that you guys are giving and I will be looking down the avenues that have been suggested. Second I just want to point out that I'm not affraid of working as I've been doing it since I was 16 trying to build up a good finacial status but I have had a few bad runs in the past as in finding out my dad has ms. I have been helping him for god knows how long including my mum and it's been a long road. Basicaly been in the automotive trade in my working years and that's all I have as a back ground, with Alix working fulltime there isn't really any casual or part time work in this trade and that's what I'm looking to get back into. Anyway with my situation now we are not on a lease just going fortnight by fortnight. It's really hard as I feel like I have let my famly down as not being a bread winner but in the plus coloum I love seeing my little boys grow up. I will be making enquiries on this situation and once again thank you all for your suggestions and encouragment.

hook a night shift somewhere I bet if you land a nightshift at a 24/7 that you can save the 2.5K in about 6 weeks.
