A Rangie Classic or a D1 is superior in almost every respect.

For a start you can hear the radio whilst driving, the air con works (and you have somewhere for the passenger's feet), you stay dry in the rain, you can't see the roadway through the gaps in the door seals, etc......

It has been said that the 100 inch luxury variants from the 90s are the "thinkin' man's" SWB....

I guess in terms of "value for money" (in present day dollar terms) these used vehicles would seem to offer much when compared to a new 90 .......

In a Rangie or D1 you can get to see the road through the big rust holes in the footwells

We could probably be put on the list for one if they do come back, although I am not a huge fan of some of the current reliability issues with them.

As for the TJ comparison, or indeed Wranglers in general, I dont mind them actually, but they are in no way a useful 4wd... lets start with the tow capacity....

Thankfully, in this country, we still have a personal choice of the car we drive.....whether it is a Landy (which ever model) an american thing or a japanese one, just get out and use them for what they were designed.

It may be a difficult choice, for me anyway, whether I may look at a 90 or the thing I have for the 110 crewcab currently available..........it is so cool now the kids are all big and I doin't need a family car.

They always were bringing the Puma 90 in just had to sort out some issues with weight, as explained to me by Phil Popham.

But they should bring in the soft top one looks alot better than the Hard top..

If your not talking about a Puma, which model 90 have you driven/based your comments? The thread is about a 2010 (11?) 90, isnt it?

Is there any indication (sorry to be a pain) of how likely this is? I'd definitely be very interested - despite the price tag...

90's are as cute as ...

Much easier to drive in the city, you don't need 1.5 x the normal city carpark length to actually get in (unlike a 110 or especially a 130).

I use mine whenever it's just me (or me and my dog) and I don't need to cart much around. They go a bit faster than a 110, because they are lighter and they are quite chuckable in the corners with a decent set of tyres on.

Ron has a few good points about the noise etc but the TD5 90 aircon is not that bad.

They're a bloody good vehicle tbh, great value for money, n haven't had a single issue in 3.5yrs. They're heaps of fun, stomping engine, extremely capable offroad even in stock form, comfortable (well the last ones anyway) and can do a lot of things very well. The rear interior space is rather limited so you have to pack carefully, and the towing capacity sucks, but being single n not having a trailer, this doesn't worry me. I'd happily go a soft-top 90, but cringe at what that would cost.
