    Been around for a while.
    Lexus, audi, new golf etc.

A screen in car will pop up, you mark where and how u want car and hey presto.

Our new golf had that option but was not really needed and quite pricey as an option and a bit freaky too.
    Be good party trick though.
My mates merc has anti crash as he calls it.
No matter how fats he travels towards say a wall or person or another car, he can not crash into it.
the car will override and slow down.
    Safer, well who knows.

Soon all cars be nuclear powered like some ships and navy carriers.
they stay at sea doing 34knots and can do so for 2 years non stop.
Its clean and cheaper just the waste material is still not sorted.

Guess that's what they use the outback for.

from the ad and from what Ive gleaned from the site.

you have to drive up to where you want to park and stop short
press the "Im to lazy to learn to park properly" button
drive past where you want to park AND swing the nose out.
then select reverse and ride the brakes back to control the speed and stop.

    so
    A its obviously auto only
B while you get the warning buzzers from the reverse parking sensors that tell you how close you are to the wall you still have to actually stop the vehicle.
C if you pooch the swing out its just going to have a hearty
D the sensor is probably based on ultra sonic so someone sneaky and of nasty disposition could probabley work out something akin to the old piezo sounder trick that used to upset the early reverse park sensors.

A lot of people wouldn't have a clue how to use a clutch and gearbox, is it really that much different. After all there's a reason that Land Rovers don't have non-synchro boxes any more.

I think they have it all wrong. What car manufacturers should be doing is putting in an anti-stupid computer... so it can detect how pathetic you as a driver are and refuse to let you drive the car the next time round. Simple solution, no skills, no drive!

The accidents that occur when people reverse out of a parking spot usually involve them not considering what is now behind the vehicle that wasn't there when they parked it... LIKE MY Tdi DEFENDER - Mind you the winch fairlead lead left a rather nice dent in the back of the Hilux. No damage to Rover.

Toyota spend gasillions marketing there driver aid systems, just look at the right ups for the new Prado. The media helps because we all get a buzz out of new gadgets (e.g. this thread). But at the end of the day are they presently in a position to replace the driver in anyway, make off-road driving for anyone etc.

ahaa. The car reverses in for you . You drive straight out you never have to drive in reverse again.

How long before Toyo remove the reverse position from the gear lever in the Prioops

Imagine the fun in a Maccas' carpark with wireless hotspot. As computer geeks with nothing better to do, figure out a jamming signal to stuff the show.
Or interference from other sources kicks in.

The carnage of all the Prius's just randomly reversing everywhere!
