My understanding is that a very small percentage of population can develop chronic ulceratrions around the bite, and these can last a while. Most bites resolve in a matter of days, or a few weeks tops. This is something I've heard from friends that have grown up in the country (so to be taken with a grain of salt) - I'm sure you'll get a better explanation in no time.

    Cheers

The spider is not poisonous, however like any animal bite, bacteria can be introduced by the bite.

Guess I shouldn't be worried about all of them leaping about the house.

A small percentage of bites have a serious reaction causing necrosis the cure is to cut away the dead tissue but this a very small number of bites not sure of the cause but keep an eye on it starts as swelling then ulcers

My wife was bitten on the lower leg which resulted in a nasty ulcer that re-occurred every summer for several years.
