Do tell? Out of my fridge?

Back on topic, I'd just say gel batteries are like plasma rope. Once you've made the switch you'll never go back.

Go for the curry, after 4wding and as the bill comes around simply look at the half empty bottle of beer and the date on the bill.

Gas, wind or water, will all cool. The 2 x 25l canoe drums filled with water in the back of the Turdis can and have cooled a 1/2 case each when in highway speed transit. I fill them up and wrap them in a wet towel. Same trick works with cans in a towel cable tied to the roof rack. I'll have to try the spare on the bonnet!!!!

A 30 second blast from a LPG cylinder will nearly freeze a six pack (not advisable) as will a quick blast with Co2 fire extinguisher.

went to battery world today where i bought it and told him what abuse it gets like 30min driving most days and fridge has barely spent a week turned off in that 2 years and he rekons that is absoloutly fantastic that one batttery can take that kind of punnishment for 2 years and that he would be thrilled with that rekons that the battery may very well still be good and just needs a good charge ended up i bought a ctek charger and will mount it on board he rekons for what im putting into the battery and what im taking out i will need to plug the ctek in atleast once every few days

Another problem I have with Optimas is that the sizes are not compatable with the cradle size in my RRC.

The biggest I could fit in the LH battery tray was 55AH, whereas the Absorbed Power N70 size ( but a bit taller) is 95AH at 20 hour discharge rate. I think this is still the case, but may not matter to others.

I can tell you that is a BIG difference.

So the energy density of the AGMs is far greater in practical terms.

i have npo idea about these fancy exspencive batterys. but just haveibng replaced one and will probably have to replace the other soon ( dated 97)

is these fancy batterys realy any good. i understand that you can drain them lower. my 144 amp tuck batterys cut off at 9V . so my question is how much more power would i get out of an Optima. and how long would it take to charge, my current ones take about 2 hours drive or less to top off. NB i duck up the road and get the cosmetic seconds for about 100 bucks each
