    Rangie Vogue LSE

    Hi Guys
I have the opportunity to purchase a 94 Vogue LSE.
The engine and gearbox are dead, so what should be the replcement, a 4.6 petrol, a 300tdi or some other diesel?
What other differences are there with a standard rangie, appart from rear doors and chassis?
I also have the opportunity to purchase a std rangie, so I need to make the decision ASAP.
    Thanks
    Steve

You should send the LSE to me and take the other Rangie on as will have less electronics etc

The LSE can be bought back to life from a post 90 wrecked Rangie or Disco The 300tdi would be an excellent alternative.

If you decide you don't want it let me know as is what I have been after for a wile. I even have the wrecked disco here for the donor running gear

Dont buy it,there crap, too many problems with them, too expensive to fix and there too old now.....

(anychance you could send me the details of the one you have found for sale.....)

I would looooooooooooooooooove a 94/95 LSE with my 4.6 in it. They come up every now and then but not that often!

There was a white 94 on ebay a whileback. Engine kaput. Was passed in at 1600 clams. It was in country vic somewhere.

Cheapest ive seen here in WA wa a ratty green one for 7k!

Buy it - buy it now - they are as scarce as..well you know what. They are a fantastic and unique car to own and ride in. Only 150 brought in to Australia in the first place.

As for motive power. A little while ago I did a head gasket in my 94 LSE but rather than just redo the heads and then wonder about the wear and reliability on every thing else attached to or in the engine I went radical.

Dropped a new short engine in along with replacing everything else new which hung off it or was in it. Importantly [for me] and for originality I stayed with the 3.9 litre. Haven't regretted it from a power, reliability or economy perspective.

But a slow diesle in an LSE....please........heaven forbid, this would be sacrilege. With apologies to those amongst us who have done this or are planning to do so. [Emoticon - shaking head in disbelief]

Petrol is the fuel of choice for an LSE - and I just love the V8 grumble from mine when the loud pedal is excercised. And so do pedestrian observers....lol

    Hi All
The LSE does have gas installed.
    It has done over 400k.
Does $5k sound a good price for it.
I am a little concerned as to all of the electrics involved eg seats. If they break how do you move the seat?
    Thanks

Steve .. not being biased, or anything .... But given that little piece of info + basically no motor or trans ...

    Tell em ... Their Dreaming

Even Perth pricing is cheaper than that ....

5k for a car with no eng/trans and 400k on it.......

As Mike said, tell him he's dreaming. Its worth half that or less.

A car with 400k on only can only be in 1 kind of condition. Tired.

$5 thou for any classic Rangie with a dead engine and tranny is way too expensive. But what does 'dead' actually mean? just blown a head gasket or did a piston come through the block? Do you know?

Yes - 400,000 is quite a few kilometres but at this stage you are judging the car - not the kilometres covered.

I agree with the V8 as a must for the LSE, BUT I have converted our '93 to 300Tdi because we need to use it as a DD. I cannot simply justify the fuel bill, basically. Gas is a no go for me also, so Tdi it is. Almost ready for rego etc so I'll report on it in the new year when it is actually on the road. Looks factory and goes well enough I think, so far

The Isuzu 110. Solid and as dependable as a rock, coming soon with auto box😊
The Range Rover L322 4.4.TTDV8 ....probably won't bother with the remap..😈
