My wife hates winter so presumably if we are getting global warming that'd be a good thing !

I would of thought that input from such minds would have been important to the cause, as surely these people would have some idea on the best course of action to address climate control, or if we are just experiencing some sort of cyclical weather pattern.
    Plenty of advisors though..

Dr, Prof or PhD; I wouldn't trust those minds with my lunch money, and they want a lot more of it than my lunch allocation. And the trouble is they are absolutely certain they have the right to help themselves to it with no thought at all to the trouble I took to earn it. Those people are not accountable and hate it when they are held to account.

No, you can laugh but these decisions belong to the pollies who have to face us in the ballot box.

Thank you for signing my climate change petition and for demanding greater accountability of the Government.

As supporters of the petition I wanted to give you a personal update of what I’ve been up to at the Copenhagen Climate Conference.

Since I arrived in Copenhagen on Saturday I’ve been busy at the COP
15 conference hearing numerous speakers as well as meeting with a number of politicians from around the world and various NGOs.

One interesting person who I sat beside was Borjn Lomberg. Although Mr Lomberg is actually on the record as believing that carbon dioxide emissions are the leading cause of climate change, he was still very critical of scheme like the Rudd Government’s CPRS and thought it was bad public policy. According to Mr Lomberg, an ETS will not do anything to stop climate change and will just be a big windfall for the bankers and brokers and other financial institutions, while ordinary Australian families are left to foot the bill. Given that there is clearly a growing opposition to the government’s CPRS, and now even from people like Mr Lomberg who don’t have questions about the science, it’s now clearer than ever that we need a proper inquiry into the scheme before we go any further with it.

As far as what is happening here in relation to negotiations between the different countries, to be blunt things are a total mess and it doesn’t appear likely that there’ll be any meaningful agreement by Friday.

However, there is talk of a three tiered system which would see one rule for China and the US, another for developed nations and compensation for the rest.

This is hardly a fair deal as it will disadvantage Australia and impact upon many hard working families. This is something we don’t want to see happen as it would destroy our economy and see thousands of jobs being booted offshore.

Debate about whether man made carbon dioxide emissions are the main driver of climate change has been muted over here, but that only makes me more determined to find why the temperature over the last 15 years has remained steady while carbon dioxide emissions have sky rocketed.

As things develop further I’ll keep you posted.

    Regards,

    Steve F

Just a junket for that halfwit. He has waited until he was in Denmark before he spoke to an Australian scientist!

''No, you can laugh but these decisions belong to the pollies who have to face us in the ballot box.''

Who's laughing, when the leaders of the most powerful countries on the planet, get together to try and work out how they are going to address the APPARENT global warming issue and all walk away without deciding on anything. If you were to believe in the affects of global warming, then Im fairly certain an outcome of any sort is better than nothing at all.
The only decisions pollies make are the ones that will line their pockets, not the ones that will help you or I.

I would give my lunch money to any Dr, Prof, if it meant finding an answer or atleast some type of result which is much more than you will get off any pollie.

But yes you are right, they will face us in the ballot box.

Now where was I ? Oh yes, on the Forum and looking for new Landrover pics !!!
In my own little isolated way, I enjoy every new day.

    Cheers, eh.

Prime Ministers always travel with big entourages which include doctors, protective service personnel etc.

It's partly so they have the best advice at their fingertips (just because this is a climate change conf doesn't mean other issues aren't discussed in the background) and partly an ancient thing to do with ego! ie my entourage must reflect my status.

The list may have been made up by a diplomat, junior civil servant or someone external to Australia. There is also a Sqn Ldr there whose rank is after is name in the list.

With Kevin 747 I think you have hit the nail on the head with ego.

He may also be qualified as a surgeon in which case his title IS "Mr".

We have a surgeon Mr Susan Adams, (although she rarely if ever uses the title) I'm sure there are many others out there.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.
