Linde Forklifts a little different .

Been on the forklift at work this week and having a great time learning the ropes of the coolroom and dispatch . But for starters I was a little stumped on how the forklift operated . I have driven hand fulls of forklifts but none like the Linde . They are a great little unit for warehouse and cool rooms .

The controls are different to what i'm used to . Normally to lift a fork you pull back or push forward to lower . On the Linde this is the tilt and lift is push right and lower is pull left . and the other thing is to go forward the normal right pedal but for reverse you use the left pedal where the brakes normally are . took a short time to get used to it but have it under control now . So with these little forks their is no need to take the hands off the wheel and controls .

Linde fork lifts are arguabaly the better operating system for continuous warehouse use because once you get used to the operating system they are easy to use. The real problem arises when there are two types of operating systems on the one site, Linde and Hyster. After you get off a Linde onto a Hyster there is a real possibility of going through a wall!! Only those who have used both forks will know what I am on about!!!
All in all, they are a great toy to play with at work are'nt they??

Fixing the things and paying for the parts is a different story.
The smallest parts can cost thousands on a linde.

They are a great forklift . No real blind spots and turn on a 5 cent piece . I look forward to driving it everyday .

Hey, don't worry about the controls, my work has swipe card forklifts.
A real PITA when you constantly have to get off an on them to do stuff and they won't start until you swipe them. They have a engine cut out that times for 20secs, often you just miss it by a second and @$%$#$
It's for safety, but a real pain. They monitor the user and if you exceed the speed limit then they record the user number.
They also have daily maintenance checks where the operator has to answer questions on a touch pad.. You can't cheat because as the Y/N button changes every time. The blokes just press ok to everything.
So if there is a basic maintenance problem like low on water or oil, then the driver who swiped the card is the culprit

    Hey Mick
You should try jumping on the backhoe after driving the 20T excavator or vise versa Levers work opposites, your first few movements are very gentle, especially if you are in the excavator 6m above the truck you are loading.

At work ours are speed limited depending on where you are . they have a sensor mounted on the roof so when you go through a door it cuts the speed back to walking pace around populated areas . But outside they are not much faster .

We have a 4.5 ton and a 3 ton Linde at the timber company I work for, and they are awsome.
Ours have the controls on the end of an arm rest where you rest your right arm, been using them for a few years now, and they are the best things.
Ive driven literally hundreds of forks and once you get the hang of these, you wouldnt drive another one.

But have to agree on the service and parts back up, it is a real let down to put it mildly.

enjoy the fork Fusion, they are a good thing.

Just dont use the centre pedal as a brake to slow you down, like on other forks.......It would be bad !!

the controls should be standardized on all fork lifts , if you are lifting half a tonn from 4 meters up you want to be sure you are pulling on the right levers
