Worked with a guy who had one of these back in the 80's.


All fibreglass, it had been left out in the sun too long and looked like an old surfboard - made me want to get out the wax..

His had a Ford Escort motor (1600?). (I think they had a VW version too)

Crashed into the rear of a commodore and cut a perfect whole in the nose from the commodore exhaust pipe.. Just like a scone cutter.

The whole roof section raised up to get in and out. (Well it was meant to). This friend got to work only to find he couldn't get out. Windows are screwed shut too....

He managed to squeeze a screw driver out to the security guy who took 20 mins to take the window out.

What a crap car.

Sleepy do not laugh too loud, both the Purvis and Bolwell's are becoming the collectors item. Custom Kit car magazine (the Australian version) has had a couple of write ups on these. I do like the look at the Bolwell and I do believe that they are looking at producing them again but it will not be in a kit - sold as turn key only.

As a high jack to this thread Custom Kit Car magazine is an Aussie magazine, written out of Adelaide. Due to the politics of the newsagents and printers you can only get a subscription through their web site, plus down load individual articles for a fee. It has only been in print for about 2 years and is a high quality magazine and I highly recommend it. The tech articles are simple and too the point. I am not involved with the magazine in any way except as a subscriber.
