    I FINALLY GOT ONE!!!!

Well, after looking at a few and having one, who I did a very big favour for before pulling out and "changing his mind" and the guy I finally bought it from trying to take another $500 from someone AFTER a tax invoice was written, I finally found a new toy!

MY03 D2 TD5, 117,800k's bog stock and doesnt even look like its seen a gravel carpark AND IT HAS A CDL!! WOOOOHOOOOO!!!!!!

All for the measly sum of $21,500!!

There are some very good deals going around, in fact I had a dealer down from $25K to $20K just by enlightening him on the 3 amigoes and .. ahem... "estimated" repair costs. That was the one until I found this one with 60,000 less kms on it and only 2 months older!

And in between looking for that, I been doing this! Finally finished to useable state.
Roof was shortened to remove the front overhang and a font hatch donated by a mate of mine via an old canopy from his F100 as payment for installing 2 A/C units.
Still have a small amount of "accessorizing" to do like inner lighting and power for fridges, maybe a water tank etc etc, but is now ready for going away this new year!

    Picking up the roof

    Finished product

Resprayed in 2 pak Bronze Green, will keep the Landy trend behind the Disco and the Rangie. Even my two girls were impressed!
Now just have to wait for dave to deliver the new stickers!

    Cheers

    Andrew.

That certainly is a nice D2a!! Well done!

It had been for sale on the web for over 2 weeks, so quite surprised it lasted that long before someone snapped it up.

Are you going to modify it in anyway, and what are you going to do with the Rangie?

I almost got a look in on a D2 in Greenwood. Was only on the net for a day before it was sold. Belonged to a woman whos hubby passed away and was advertised for $17,100. Some guy in the area had seen it parked outside her house and even went to the extent of getting quotes to fix problems that were aparently there and screwed her down to $15,200. And this one only had 90,000 k's on it!
When she told me all this on the phone, couldnt help but think what a total tosser he was. She was nice enough to call back and say it was sold but I did ask her if he left a deposit as what she wanted was more than fair and she was getting screwed!

The D2 will get a few mods as time goes by.
As for the Rangie, well she aint going anywhere!! Has been in my garage for 10 years and will be there for another 10 years or 20. The focus will be a restoration on the RRC back to its former showroom glory I used to keep it in.

A dodgy paint job under insurance after cleaning up a roo a few years back has now left it looking a tad sad along with a few dune trips giving me lots of "bush pin striping"....

The insurance company were giving me the run around so I thought, bugger it, I gonna let it get that bad, they will need to respray the whole car. If they kickup about it, I will take it to Court as they gave me a Lifetime Warranty on the work.

Besides, I would have to change my name to "USEDTOLOVEMYRANGIEBUTNOWIHAVEAD2" and thats just way too hard to type!!!!

    Cheers

    HA!! Love it!!
The trailer used to have a Hilux tray on it which, when sitting in my garage on a still day, you can hear it quietly rusting!!
