Brisbane Disco Repairs
Hi Guys, I have a 2000 V8 Series 2 Disco. It is in need of some work to bring it back up to standard. Can any one recommend a mechanic in Brisbane that is up to doing some major repairs on this car.
I have looked around and would need to spend at least 40 - 45k to buy a car that comes close to the same performance and comfort. So would rather spend 10k on fixing my current Disco.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks.

A lot here will agree that MR Automotive in Redcliffe are very good. They used to do all the work on our old Tdi Disco. Quite reasonably priced too.

Yep - MR Auto are probably the LR repairer in Brisbane IMHO. On any given day it's just wall to wall LR and nothing else. Car park full, workshop full.. overflowing LR's onto the street.
The only downside I know of is their location, which is a PITA if you don't live close by. I believe they have some courtesy cars which may help. Even so, to get there and back into town, and come back there in the afternoon means a very short work day and a huge day for you. I normally drop it Friday and pick up Saturday morning which halves the problem.

Hi Mate,
Don't know MR, I can only recommend British Offroad on the sunshine coast where I live. For Major work, I only use Land Rover Specialists now. It's much cheeper in the mid to long term.
British have loan cars if you need one, book one. Also if it does not need to be done they will not do it. These guys have helped me out a few times now. The advice is free and they drive what I drive.
Worth the trip if you have no luck down there.

G'Day TMCD.
Mate, what sort of work are you talking about?
There isn't much that a bloke (or Lass) can't do to a Disco with basic tools, basic knowledge, a RAVE CD and this wonderful resource here.
With a bit of 'can-do' and care, you can save the mechs for the techy stuff.
Dave.
