Thread: I need an alternator ASAP

I have a '91 Discovery with a 3.5l EFI engine, 5 speed, 3 door. My alternator died on xmas eve and I am trying to find one as soon as possible as I use my truck for work. The regulator went out but upon closer inspection the bearings are shot and to make it even worse, the front case is broken at the point where the screw that holds the alternator together. This model of Alternator seems to be rare as chicken with teeth. It is a three bolt alternator with a V-belt pully. Any help locating one of these is greatly appreciated. I live in Port Macquarie, NSW.

are the most likely source for 2nd hand alt.

In a pinch, a regular Ford v-belt alternator can be shoehorned in there with a bit of adaption. Search the word alternator (In the advanced search function) and a lot of threads will come up.

Most anything from a earlier Rangie will work.
