20 years, well done. Do you get Long Service leave??
You have done well, this sort of thing is getting less & less these days
One of the guys in a Govt. dept we do some work for clocks up 50yrs later this month.
As for the long service .....comes up every 10yrs in most occupations, but was every 15 yrs before i think the year 2000,when the rules were changed. So if you have some due before 2000,there is a formular to use to calculate the yrs of service before long service is due.
well done , you must be pleased with thatour department does some work for airservices .I liase with some of your service techs for asssurance and other things.
we also have a 45+ year service award coming up in our department the same time next month.
Yeah , I picked up 3 months of LSL when I reached my 10 years of service and from there on for every year of service I've accrued 2 weeks.
Not sure about the rule change Scarry , I was told when I started I would recieve 3 months when I hit 10 years of service , but in any case since I started I've only taken one month off![]()
Well done Kos...as previously said, that is a rarity these days....
Would have had 20 years up next year if I had not been made redundant. It is nice to have a secure job and well done, but it can also be shattered in a moment when a company takes a different direction.
Enough of that and again well done, hope they make you feel appreciated.

When I first started my Employement , I would have never thought that I'd actually be employed in the same company for as long as I have been.
I had just completed my high school certificate and started a TAFE electronic diploma course the following year , a Job opportunity arose and I grabbed it with both hands.![]()
During my traineeship period ,I continued my studies @ TAFE , attended classes for 4 years @ Nights to complete my Diploma course and it all finally eventuated.
I was a qualified technical officer . I can Tell you this does a lot of good for a young bloke's self esteem , straight out of school and not knowing much about life in general.
Well done Kos
