Not to be outdone by those Toyota chaps,Land Rover contacted me regarding my series 111 2.25 diesel. It appears that some vehicles had doors fitted that might not have had a final adjustment before they left Solihull. Because of this some people have reported the odd draft coming in around the door top. There have occasionally been reports of some rain getting in around the door tops too. Hard to imagine I know but some dodgy ones will slip through the quality control check.
They also were concerned that the 2.25 diesel "may" sound a little grumpy on cold mornings so they think they have a fix for that too.
Had I noticed any corrosion on the chassis, especially around the crossmember area? Must check I said. It seems they have had the odd report about this too. They also want to get the vehicle up on a ramp to check for leaking seals-just in case any might need attention.
Naturally I was very impressed with this attention to detail and customer satisfaction. They said that there would be a slight delay in booking me in to the main dealer as they had a lot of vehicles they wanted to check. No bother I said as it will surely be entirely unnecessary to remedy these highly rare and unlikely faults. So I was given a date on 35th of May next. I will of course post updates on the visit and if any remedial action is necessary I will post that too.
