Thread: Buxton burgers still the go!

not a good site at all,you can see the terror they must of went through

i've stopped there a few times for a burger myself after a mornings fishing

did you take on the challenge ??

We drove down Lake Mountain into Marysville last week.

Your right, 12 months later it is still very eerie.

Don't mind a good burger - I'll have to drive up and give 'em some business

I too was up that way last week went up to Marysville/Lake Mountain for a bit of a drive and yep sure is still eerie, i still cant believe that in this day and age people are still living in tents and caravans on there blocks of land.

Was tempted to head into Buxton for a burger but decided to absolutely pig out at the bakery in Marysville

The Buxton Burger is not really a challenge if your hungry, but why make your self sick trying.
The Buxton Burger was voted Best Burger in Victoria by the Age Epicure magazine in 2005, and the tradition is still going strong.

With 2 meat patties, double cheese, double bacon, onion, egg, pineapple, lettuce, tomato, beetroot & sauce – it’s certainly a mouthful and not to be tackled lightly!

I've eaten the Cathedral burger from there, that's the super size me one, but that took me 1/2hr to consume.
For those that don't know about the Cathedral burger, that's the tripple beef layer, salad, beetroot, pineapple, egg bacon on a 16cm wide bun all towered and held together via a couple of satay skewers with an Aussie flag on top.
It makes the Angry Angus look wee.

The Cathedral Burger is ‘big brother’ to the Buxton and is certainly a challenge – you definitely have to be hungry before you attempt eating it!

Named after the Cathedral Mountains just behind the Igloo Roadhouse, the Cathedral Burger has 3 meat patties, triple cheese, triple bacon, onion, two eggs, 2 slices of pineapple, lettuce, tomato, beetroot & sauce – it’s a mountain of a burger.
