It can be done , but involves a full body /chassis swap ..........................to a landrover - ie dispose of falcon.

Yes it was a dangerous recovery The ol tow ball thing I wasn't keen on the idea at all. No by standers but could have trashed my truck.

Green Its green, I just had to by food for minime's Rabbit no green here.

But I know what you mean about the isuzu. initially going from the 300tdi I was using more foot than I needed to. always fun watching others scramble up stuff spitting stones everywhere and some times a bit of smoke, then you follow up on high idle.

But surely there were more options than a towbal recovery? Even around the chassis would have been better. Not condemning you at all as you took a calculated risk, but you did make it public.

As I pointed out I was not keen on the idea by any means. But you know what some Toyota drivers are like. They know everything.
No by standers and was not a rip tear recovery. Was nice and gentle. So yes... was a calculated risk on my behalf
We all know better but some still do it at times.
So any one reading this.... Do not ever recover via a tow ball with a snatch strap under any circumstances as is a big risk.

Funny thing happened over xmas....One of my best mates drives a Lexus 360.. he had a very funny thought, he thought he could drive it Smokey Head to Hat Head along the very, very soft beach. Long story short he was missin for several Hrs. My wife and i took a hunch and went for a drive along the beach and found him and his wife and young bloke frantically trying to dig the Lexus out from the body bogging sand. The only way i could snatch him was via the tow ball and arse drag him the 350-400mts up the beach to where it was hard enough for him to get going again.
My butt hole was like a rabbits nose during the whole process, worrying about the tow ball. It didn't snap off but it could have.. The funny thing about this successful reco was that during the dragging process the carbon fibre air dams, stone guards etc. were ripped off. And still my mate was ever so thankfull.

I don't mean to steal the thread but it was aver funny episode of life.
