The protruding grille dates from the first 110 when fitted with factory air, and again, not very noticeable, especially when, as is usual in Australia, there is a bullbar. You are right, the roof ribs are obvious, but I am not too sure about the vents - I have a hard time spotting them as a vehicle drives past.

I think I notice the vents as I really miss them. I couldn't begin to work out how they could have incorporated them with the new dash but I still miss them. Funny thing is I really like the new dash and the functional A/C and heater. But I don't miss either when I jump in the Tdi.
I lent the Tdi to a friend for 3 months whilst we travelled last year. He even admitted that driving it was enjoyable and he's a Toyota die-hard. There really is something about a Land Rover that makes it special.

but I seem to remember the filler was under a seat at some stage (maybe just ex mil land rovers ?)
