Mike90RR came to the rescue for me the day before I went away on a trip, by giving me a spare Ignition amp for my V8 at the time. Thanks again mate. In return, he was after said parts. Unfortunatly I cannot deliver on those parts just yet.

As soon as the parts becaome avail, they are his, and I feel bad that I havent repayed his generosity. So mike if you want another amp in the meantime, just let me know (please)....

Now I'm hoping mike doesnt feel the same way about me as you guys feel in regards to some other Aulroians, but for a lot of people on here, I wouldnt hesitate in handing over parts, or help if you needed it. My only condition is that, they do the same to the next poor bugger...

So for you lot who go out of your way to keep other landys going

    Ben
    Cheers,

I've had a couple of bad experiences in the past, but like people have said most of the time people are grateful, keep their promises and even throw in some beer.

I remember two things in particular. Once I lent a bloke I knew fairly well a drill press. He was doing a pretty big job so I left it with him a while. When I tried to get it back he dodged me very successfully for about a year, then just admitted that he didn't have it any more and couldn't remember what he did with it. He also said he couldn't afford to replace it and that was that.

Another time I gave someone a sizeable pile of parts to help finish a project vehicle - I was just happy to see them used. I saw them the next week - on eBay

    Sorry to hear Pete,

I've been lucky enough to be helped out afew times by people on this forum and so far haven't been in a situation to return the favour to either them or others..

Hope it doesn't deter you in future, a call will let you know one way or the other..

    Hope it works out..

    Cheers Ean

As a relative newcomer, I would not like to see the behavior of a few taint the help and assistance openly offered by everyone else.

I don't think you need a protocol for this. It really is basic common courtesy. If someone does not have that, it will come back to bite them soon enough.

Hope you get a resolution soon.

I've had a couple that ended not-so-well, but can't have been much, because this has to be third or fourth of these threads I've read, and it's the first time I even recalled those two.

They pale to nothing in comparison to the endless help, parts, courier-ing, and the rest, from everyone else on the forum.

Chalk it up as the price of maintaining forum goodwill.
